Otago Mental Health Support Trust provides peer support, advocacy & information for people affected by mental distress and addiction, whatever the cause. We will walk alongside you.
We will listen to you and hear what you say. We do not need to know a diagnosis, if you have one, and we are here for families, whānau and friends too.
Our service is free, confidential, independent and needs no referral.
If you are suffering mental distress and would like support as you move forward with your life please get in touch. You can call us Toll free on 0800 364 462.
We continue to use an answerphone as the team are out and about most days. The phone messages are checked regularly Monday to Friday.
For 24 hour support if you are feeling distressed, phone or text 1737 toll-free for the mental health helpline which is staffed by trained counsellors. In an emergency always phone 111.
For each person the journey of mental distress or addiction and how they achieve recovery, is unique; this means services need to be responsive to a range of needs; peer support has the flexibility to achieve this. [Mental Health Commission]
